The four partners behind this Foundation, recognizing their synergies within their region, have joined forces to strengthen collaborations between academic, institutional, and socio-economic actors in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) sector.

University Côte d'Azur
  • Université Côte d'Azur (UniCA) is one of the 10 French research-intensive universities recognized as an IDEX (Initiative of Excellence) institution, and its activities have a significant impact on its region, as evidenced by the Biggar 2020 report. UniCA has prioritized the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) as a key focus in its strategic plan and holds the presidency of the MIN4CI Foundation for its initial term.
  • UniCA serves as the driving force behind the Campus of Excellence in Cultural and Creative Industries of the Sud Region (CMQe ICC) and also leads the Federation of CCIs for an Innovation and Training Territory (FICCTION) project, which received the PIA4 Competencies and Future Careers label as part of the France 2030 plan.
  • The University Research School of Arts and Humanities CREATES (Création, Transformations, Émergences) encompasses 9 laboratories and 7 art schools, playing a central role in innovation and education strategies in the field of CCIs.
  • XR2C2 (eXtended Reality Research and Creative Center) is an IDEX-designated reference center for extended reality, bringing together multiple laboratories, art schools, institutes, and components dedicated to creative exploration and research in the field of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR). XR2C2 offers opportunities for expressions of interest, artist residencies, and an experimentation lab for doctoral candidates.
  • The Georges Méliès Campus in Cannes is an innovative hub (ranked among the 25 most innovative places in France in 2022) dedicated to CCIs, housing an incubator, business center, and technological platforms.
  • UniCA Entreprendre is an institute dedicated to creativity and entrepreneurship, affiliated with the SUGAR and DEMOLA networks, which focus on entrepreneurship and disruptive practices.
  • The university has established training and innovation partnerships with major players in the CCI sector.
  • UniCA is involved in several European projects dedicated to CCIs, including Interreg, Erasmus+, Creative Europe, and Horizon Europe.
  • It's a member of ULYSSEUS, a European university alliance with 6 universities and 95 socio-economic partners, serving as an innovation hub focused on arts, culture, and tourism.
Aix-Marseille University
  • Aix-Marseille University, the largest French-speaking university, boasts a student body of 80,000, 120 research units, 12 doctoral schools with 3,300 doctoral candidates, 15 doctoral programs, and over 180 educational programs in fields related to Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI).
  • The City of Innovation and Knowledge of Aix-Marseille, CISAM+, is a unique model for transferring research excellence results to the CCIs. It features the "AMU Technological Platforms" label for cutting-edge platforms like CRVM, MAS, etc. Additionally, it hosts three territorial innovation centers in Arles (digital heritage), Aubagne (acoustics), and Digne-les-Bains (intangible heritage).
  • Arts, culture, and creativity play a central role in the university's strategy. This includes five sets of university performances and two campus hubs dedicated to culture and scientific culture. A wide network of partnerships in the CCIs encompasses specialized incubators, the Aix International Lyric Art Festival, Manifesta, MUCEM, FRAC, Preljocaj, and more.
  • The university houses 15 institutes, including the Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Studies, an Observatory of Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Practices supported by the interdisciplinarity mission, and a participatory sciences chair dedicated to CCIs for societal transitions (OTACC).
  • Aix-Marseille University is also involved in several European projects dedicated to CCIs, such as Horizon Europe, Creative Europe, Interreg, Erasmus+, and leads CIVIS, a European university alliance consisting of AMU, Athens, Bucharest, Brussels, Madrid, Rome, Stockholm, and Tübingen.
Avignon University
  • Strategic Focus: Heritage, Culture, and Digital Societies (8 laboratories: CNE, LLC, CIHAM, ESPACE, LIA, LMA, ICTT, JPEG)
  • Villa Créative: A university-based collaborative space dedicated to research, education, innovation, and creative industries in the fields of culture, performing arts, museums, heritage, and audiovisual content (offering co-working spaces, living labs, researcher and artist residencies, exhibitions, etc.).
  • Specialized and recognized Master's programs in the cultural field (museums, archives, heritage, theaters) and in understanding cultural audiences through innovative project-based pedagogy.
  • Research Federation: Agorantic (an interdisciplinary scientific coordination structure between humanities and social sciences laboratories and digital sciences).
  • Member of the Carnot Cognition Institute (cognitive technologies) and the Convergence ILCB (Institute for Language, Communication, and the Brain).
  • A University Research School called InterMEDIUS, which brings together laboratories and Master's programs in the field of Heritage, Culture, and Digital Societies.

Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region
  • A key player in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) sectors: providing support, structuring, and fostering collaboration at the regional level.
  • Expertise in domains directly impacting CCIs: regional development, economic growth, tourism, education, international cooperation, and more.
  • ExtraPole: Established in 2017 at the initiative of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, this innovative co-production platform serves as a tool for producing performances and assisting in their distribution. Since its inception, 8 co-productions have been launched, totaling 360 performances in the region, across France, and internationally.
  • General Inventory of Cultural Heritage: A regional cultural competence mandated by law, enabling the utilization of knowledge for better preservation, restoration, and valorization of cultural heritage.
  • Strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including at the national level: The institution, in collaboration with the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC), supports the creation and production of high-quality cinematic and audiovisual works in all their diversity.
